In this role, dishwashers will be responsible for ensuring the spotless cleanliness of all dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen items used in food preparation and service. Dishwashers must adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper operation of dishwashing machines at correct temperatures and usage of approved detergents and sanitizers, all aligned with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) requirements for handling hazardous chemicals.
Additionally, dishwashers support the kitchen team by assisting with food prep tasks, organizing and rotating produce, and maintaining clean and safe kitchen walkways at all times. This role demands a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high energy and good judgment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous culinary experience is preferred but not required
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work in both hot and cool environments
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds and frequently squat and bend
- Strong commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow safety instructions and handle hazardous materials
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Must be 18 years or older
- Available to work flexible hours
Job Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Passion for food and people
- Team player with a good attitude and sense of urgency
- Ability to read and follow written recipes, standards, and safety instructions
- Self-accountable and able to uphold high standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment standing up to 8 hours daily
- Willingness to learn and develop
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain certification
Job Duties
- Ensure cleanliness and quality of every dish, pot, pan, utensil, and kitchen item used in food preparation and service
- Be an ambassador of the company mission and core values and work as a great team player
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards consistently with best-in-class practices
- Monitor dish machine operation ensuring correct temperatures
- Use proper detergents and correct detergent levels in dish machines and pot washing sinks
- Use proper sanitizers for cleaning walls, cook/prep surfaces, and floors
- Abide by Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for safe chemical use
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized walkways in the kitchen
- Keep the dish area free from debris at all times
- Assist kitchen with prep work, put away food orders, and rotate produce as needed
