Established with the purpose of creating a better everyday experience for everyone, Sodexo operates with a strong focus on corporate social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and diversity and inclusion. The company partners with various sectors including healthcare, education, corporate, and government to provide integrated solutions such as catering, facility management, and food services that not only meet but exceed client expectations. Its comprehensive approach has made Sodexo a trusted name in enhancing customer satisfaction and employee well-being through innovative and sustainable practices.
The Dishwasher role at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus is a part-time position designed for individuals who are dependable, hardworking, and dedicated to maintaining high sanitation standards. The position offers a pay range of $15.00 to $15.92 per hour and involves working weekend shifts including mornings, afternoons, and evenings, with specific shift details provided during the interview. This role is essential in supporting kitchen and facility operations by ensuring cleanliness and organization in the food production and service areas. Key responsibilities include washing dishes and kitchen utensils by hand or using a dishwashing machine, sanitizing various surfaces such as worktables, walls, meat blocks, and refrigerators, as well as sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors to uphold hygiene standards.
The Dishwasher will also be responsible for removing trash and garbage to designated disposal areas, cleaning equipment with specific chemicals to ensure sanitation, restocking supplies like soap and paper towels, and assisting with basic setup and breakdown tasks as needed. This position requires physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to walk or stand for extended periods, sometimes exceeding eight hours per shift, and the ability to lift and move weights up to 50 pounds occasionally. Sodexo values punctuality and reliability in this role, expecting the Dishwasher to attend all scheduled shifts consistently.
Working at Sodexo means being part of a company that supports flexible and family-friendly work environments, providing training and career development opportunities, and offering a comprehensive benefits package. Employees enjoy paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, discounts, and more. Some locations may offer additional site-specific benefits such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, or transportation assistance.
Sodexo fosters an inclusive culture grounded in respect and fairness, recognizing the importance of diversity and belonging in creating a positive workplace. The Dishwasher position not only contributes to daily operational excellence but also plays a role in enhancing the overall well-being of patients, staff, and visitors within the healthcare setting. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to contribute meaningfully in a supportive and dynamic environment while gaining valuable experience in food service and sanitation.
