The Dishwasher role at Whole Foods Market involves maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area to support a safe and efficient food preparation environment. This position requires performing all dishwashing duties, such as cleaning dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen. The Dishwasher also assists with kitchen deliveries by properly storing, organizing, and rotating products. Punctuality, appropriate grooming, and readiness to work are essential, as is providing excellent customer service and supporting team members by modeling positive behaviors. The role demands adherence to all store and team standard operating procedures, health and safety regulations, food safety requirements, and WFM quality goals.
This position is an entry-level opportunity with no prior retail experience required and offers a wage range of $17.00 to $25.40 hourly, commensurate with experience. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work standing or walking for 6 to 8 hours per day, and perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. The work environment includes exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures ranging from freezing to over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Flexibility to work shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary. The position demands the safe use of various tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and possibly ladders.

Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Washes, rinses, and sanitizes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares
- maintains cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area
- assists with kitchen deliveries including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products
- arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
- provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
- maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
- follows and complies with established hygiene and safety procedures including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
- maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
- performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- immediately reports safety hazards and violations
- performs other duties as assigned by leadership
