The Dishwasher role at Whole Foods Market involves maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area to support a safe and efficient food preparation environment. This position requires performing all dishwashing duties, such as cleaning dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen. The Dishwasher also assists with kitchen deliveries by properly storing, organizing, and rotating products. Punctuality, appropriate grooming, and readiness to work are essential, as is providing excellent customer service and supporting team members by modeling positive behaviors. The role demands adherence to all store and team standard operating procedures, health and safety regulations, food safety requirements, and WFM quality goals.

This position is an entry-level opportunity with no prior retail experience required and offers a wage range of $17.00 to $25.40 hourly, commensurate with experience. Employees who complete their first 90-day period successfully may be eligible for a base rate increase.

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work standing or walking for 6 to 8 hours per day, and perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. The work environment includes exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures ranging from freezing to over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Flexibility to work shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary. The position demands the safe use of various tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and possibly ladders.
