The role of a Dishwasher is crucial within our kitchen operations. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen by efficiently washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, glassware, and silverware. The Dishwasher must be adept at using commercial dishwasher machines as well as hand-washing techniques like the three-basin sink method to ensure that all items are sanitized according to health codes and safety standards. This role includes loading and unloading the dishwasher, adding detergents and rinse aids, and monitoring the cleaning process to deliver spotless kitchenware.
Beyond dishwashing, the Dishwasher is tasked with keeping the dish machine and surrounding sinks clean and operational to prevent any workflow disruptions. This position also requires performing general cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, emptying garbage and recycling bins, refilling soap and paper towel dispensers, and organizing the dishwashing area including shelves and storage spaces. Occasionally, the Dishwasher may be required to clean and sanitize other kitchen equipment like pots and pans, ensuring the whole kitchen supports a hygienic environment.
Effective communication and teamwork are essential for this role, as the Dishwasher will interact with various kitchen staff including the General Manager, Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef, taking direction and supporting overall kitchen operations.
