The position requires working in a standing position for extended periods within a hot, wet, and loud environment.

Candidates must hold a Food Handlers' certification from the local health department, possess some high school education, and have any related experience or training as an advantage. Job Duties

  • Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
  • Load, run and unload the dish machine
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
  • Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware
  • Keep dish room clean and organized
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
  • Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times, safely lift bags, cases and stacks
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
  • Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
  • Clean food preparation and production areas as required
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen as directed by supervisor
  • Work in standing position and hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods
  • Follow highest standards of cleanliness, federal, state and corporate policies, health codes and guidelines
  • Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner and wear safety equipment as required
  • Report any safety hazards or accidents to supervisor
  • Follow department safety standards, practice correct body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs
  • Attend all mandatory in-service meetings and comply with all department and facility policies and procedures
  • Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans and follow established procedures during drills and emergencies
