The Dishwasher position at Sunrise Senior Living plays a vital role in maintaining the hygiene and sanitation of all areas involved with food production and consumption. This includes the kitchen, dining rooms, bistros, private dining spaces, serveries, and pantries. The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment, while ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Additional duties involve janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash, contributing to a safe and organized kitchen environment.
This role supports food preparation and plating when necessary and assists in the management of food and supply inventory through proper storage, labeling, and rotation. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year job related experience preferred
- Ability to perform essential job duties satisfactorily

Job Duties
- Set-up and maintain the dish and pot washing areas
- Operate dish machine(s) according to manufacturer instruction
- Perform dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware
- Maintain accurate dish machine and pot and pan sink temperature and sanitation logs and report any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate equipment logs and report any issues promptly
- Complete assigned kitchen cleaning duties and ensure accuracy of daily and weekly cleaning logs
- Clean assigned kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, ice makers, coffee machines, hoods and ventilation screens
- Perform assigned janitorial duties, including sweeping work areas, mopping floors, washing walls and ceilings, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash
- Assist with food preparation and plating when necessary
- Maintain the correct storage of all cookware, china, glassware, and utensils
- Maintain the correct storage of all janitorial and chemical supplies
- Assist in the receiving, storage, dating, labeling, and rotation of food and non-food supplies
- Comply with national/provincial regulations pertaining to occupational health and safety and risk management programs and policies
- Responsible for performing other dining services duties when assigned, such as cleaning and maintaining dining rooms and bistros, bussing and resetting tables, taking and delivering food orders, and preparing and serving light meals
- Participate and commit to working toward team goals
- Demonstrate team member credo in daily interactions
- Commit to serving residents and guests through principles of service
- Contribute to overall engagement programs for residents and team members
