The Dishwasher role at Dial is vital to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kitchen department, ensuring that all kitchenware, dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and trays are sanitized according to strict health regulations. This position requires the operation of dishwashing equipment, hand washing certain kitchen items, and organizing kitchen storage areas to foster a tidy and efficient workspace. The dishwasher also supports kitchen staff by assisting with basic food preparation tasks, restocking items, delivering clean utensils and trays, and performing routine maintenance and cleaning of kitchen appliances and areas. Providing excellent customer service to residents, by supporting dining experiences and maintaining a clean environment, is a key component of this role, contributing to resident satisfaction and comfort.

This role is ideal for individuals who are at least 16 years old, possess the ability to read, write, and comprehend English effectively, and demonstrate a strong work ethic with a willingness to learn. Success in this position requires adherence to state food-handling and kitchen safety regulations, promotion of teamwork, and the physical ability to remain on their feet and move about the kitchen for shifts lasting between 3 to 3.75 hours. Preferred candidates enjoy working with older adults, have prior experience in food cleanup or preparation, and show readiness to contribute positively as part of a team.

Job Duties

  • Operate dishwasher and ensure proper sanitation of kitchenware including dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and trays
  • hand wash kitchen items not suitable for the dishwasher
  • store items in their proper spot and maintain a tidy and organized kitchen
  • notify manager if dish machine malfunctions or requires maintenance
  • clean equipment, appliances, storage area, and sinks according to schedule
  • support kitchen staff with basic prep, item restock, or delivery of clean items when needed
  • provide customer service to residents to allow a high level of resident satisfaction
  • bus tables during and after meals and clear tables when residents are finished eating, as requested
  • maintain a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment as required by local and state health departments
  • perform routine preventative cleaning on dish machine according to schedule
  • other duties as assigned
