The Dishwasher position involves operating and maintaining various cleaning equipment and tools, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. The person in this role is responsible for washing and disinfecting kitchen and store room areas, as well as kitchen utensils such as tables, knives, tools, and equipment. Receiving deliveries, proper storage of perishables, and stock rotation are also key responsibilities, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and inventory remains in optimal condition. The dishwasher must use cleaning chemicals such as detergents and sanitizers in a three-compartment sink to ensure dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Additionally, the Dishwasher inspects cleaned items, returning any soiled items for re-cleaning, and racks and sprays all racked items with hot water to loosen food residue. Tasks include sorting, soaking, and washing silverware; breaking down dirty bus tubs; maintaining trash cans and dumpster areas; mopping and cleaning all assigned departments; disposing of glass in proper containers; and handling cardboard and recyclable materials.

The job also requires compliance with company safety and security policies, including reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, or maintenance needs, and completing required safety training.
