In the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, SSP America manages a diverse portfolio of popular restaurant brands such as Ballard Brew Hall, Mi Casa Cantina, Greedy Cow, Pei Wei, Bad Egg, and many others. These establishments offer a wide range of culinary options, aiming to cater to the tastes and preferences of travelers and local patrons alike.
This Utility position is based at the SSP commissary located at 9844 40th Ave S, Seattle, WA, 98118. The role is full-time with a competitive hourly wage of $23.40, along with full benefits and opportunities for growth within the company. SSP America values a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both customers and employees, and the Utility role is essential in maintaining these standards.
As a Utility employee at SSP America, you will be responsible for creating a positive guest experience by ensuring all restaurant and kitchen facilities are clean, sanitized, and well-maintained. This role requires dedication to upholding hygiene standards and a strong attention to detail, as you will be tasked with cleaning various surfaces, including floors, walls, ceilings, windows, worktables, vents, grills, refrigerators, and storage areas. Your efforts directly contribute to the health and safety of guests and team members, making it a vital position within the operation.
Additional responsibilities include removing refuse to designated disposal areas, handling specific chemicals safely to meet sanitary guidelines, and utilizing heavy equipment when necessary. You will also be involved in loading and unloading supply trucks, transferring goods between storage and work areas to support smooth kitchen operations.
In the dining areas, you will clear and reset tables as needed, ensuring a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for guests. Handling cookware and dishes either by scraping off food, washing by hand, or loading dishwashers efficiently is another key aspect of the role, supporting kitchen staff and maintaining a continuous flow of clean utensils and equipment.
Moreover, you will assist with stock rotation, checking the temperature of food items to preserve quality and safety standards. This comprehensive approach to cleanliness and organization supports SSP America’s mission of providing exceptional service in a safe environment.
