The role of Dishwasher at Milestone plays a critical part in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen and dining environment, directly supporting the efficiency of dining services. Reporting to the Dining Room Manager or Director of Culinary Services, this position ensures that dishes, utensils, and tabletop items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored. The Dishwasher supports a positive customer service culture by keeping the dining area orderly and by assisting with meal service when needed. This role requires someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about contributing to a smooth operational flow in a professional kitchen. Job Requirements

Must be 18 years or older
meet health requirements including health screening and TB clearance
pass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background check
ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance
ability to talk, hear, and use vision effectively
occasional weekend, evening, or night work and on-call as needed
possible exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, latex, and other hazards
ability to lift and assist as needed, up to 50 lbs occasionally
frequent interaction with coworkers, residents, and vendors

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
previous experience in food service or customer service preferred
obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by state regulations
first Aid certification required
compassion for and desire to work with older adults
strong verbal and written communication skills
ability to understand and follow instructions, plan and organize tasks
self-motivated with strong customer service work ethic
pleasant, professional, and personable with excellent organizational skills

Job Duties

Support a positive customer service culture in the dining room
transport dishes to the kitchen and maintain a clean dining area
clear, wash, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and tabletop items
return dishes and utensils to appropriate storage areas
ensure safe work practices for yourself and coworkers
comply with Safety Committee Standards
complete sanitation and cleanup tasks for dish room, kitchen, dining areas, steam tables, sinks, and drains
empty trash and follow daily cleaning schedules
assist with serving residents in the dining room as needed
maintain flexibility with daily schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed
display friendliness and professionalism when interacting with residents, families, and visitors
provide support during community tours and events
follow dress code and maintain a positive professional image
report elder maltreatment or abuse as required to appropriate management and authorities
perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Culinary Services
