Currently, Sodexo is hiring for the position of Dishwasher at Bethel University. This role is available for both full-time and part-time employment, with a competitive pay range of $16 to $19 per hour. The working shifts cover mornings, afternoons, and evenings on varying days, including some weekends and holidays. The dishwasher position is a vital part of Sodexo’s kitchen and facility operations, ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained by keeping food production and service areas clean, sanitized, and well organized.

As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for washing dishes by hand or using dishwashing machines, maintaining cleanliness of worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks, and ensuring sanitation of floors and trash areas. This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand or walk for extended periods, often exceeding eight hours per shift, and the capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • No related work experience required
  • Knowledge of sanitation procedures including basic food safety concepts
  • Ability to walk or stand for long durations, sometimes exceeding 8 hours
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Washes dishes by hand or places them in a dishwashing machine
  • Cleans and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks
  • Sweeps, mops, cleans, and vacuums floors
  • Removes trash and garbage to designated areas
  • Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards
  • Re-stocks supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials
  • Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
