The Dishwasher role at Waltonwood plays a vital part behind the scenes in the Culinary Department, where the focus is on sustaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times. This position is essential in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that all china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, pots, and other equipment are cleaned to the highest standards. The dishwasher uses both machine and manual cleaning methods to maintain cleanliness and sanitation protocols, which directly supports the overall goal of delivering an exceptional dining experience to residents.
This role reports directly to the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director and is part of a hardworking team focused on thoroughness and efficiency. In addition to washing dishes and utensils, the dishwasher also handles sweeping kitchen floors, mopping stockrooms, and reporting any hazardous situations to management to uphold safety standards. Employees in this role must be detail-oriented and appreciate the importance of their contributions to mealtime presentation and resident satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- Working knowledge of dish cleaning practices and dining etiquette
- Knowledge of proper food service sanitation techniques
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
- Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push and pull
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive movements including simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
Job Qualifications
- Working knowledge of dish cleaning practices and dining etiquette
- Knowledge of proper food service sanitation techniques
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred
Job Duties
- Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine
- Sort and stack clean dishes
- Carry clean dishes to cook’s line or other proper storage areas
- Wash certain pots, pans, trays, dishes and utensils by hand with specified soap and water directed by the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director
- Sweep kitchen floors, ensure kitchen floor is sanitized and take trash out
- Mop stockrooms and report any hazardous situations in the kitchen to the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director
- Adhere to all sanitation and safety standards
- Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director
