St. Paul's Towers Retirement Community is a well-established residential facility dedicated to providing a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for seniors. St. Paul's Towers is currently seeking a part-time Dishwasher to join their food services team. This role operates under the supervision of the Director of Dining Services or the Executive Chef, and it is primarily responsible for washing and cleaning all tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment to maintain a hygienic environment. The position involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dish room and other kitchen areas, which is fundamental to the smooth operation of the dining service. This opportunity offers a competitive pay range of $22.57 to $24.00 per hour and involves working afternoon shifts from 4pm to 8pm, including some weekends.
The Dishwasher plays a critical role in ensuring that all kitchenware is washed, sanitized, and properly stored to support dining operations and food preparation. This position requires the individual to load, run, and unload the dish machine, monitor water temperatures for sanitation, and keep the workspace and equipment clean. Additionally, the dishwasher is responsible for managing waste disposal, maintaining appropriate stock levels of detergents and cleaning supplies, and assisting with general kitchen cleanliness and safety. The job requires standing for extended periods in varying conditions, including heat, humidity, and noise, emphasizing the need for physical stamina and adherence to safety standards.

Job Duties
- Food service dishwasher
- Provide quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors
- Load, run and unload the dish machine
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
- Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware
- Keep dish room clean and organized
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
- Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designated times and safely lift bags, cases and stacks
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operation
- Work in standing position and hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time
- Follow highest standards of cleanliness and health codes
- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner and report any safety hazards and accidents
- Follow department safety standards and practice correct body mechanics
- Attend all mandatory in-service meetings
- Understand facility's fire and disaster plans and follow procedures during drills and emergencies
