The role of Dishwasher at Sunrise Senior Living involves critical responsibilities that support the daily operations of dining and kitchen services. This is a full-time position where the team member will be responsible for essential sanitation and cleaning duties in various food production and consumption areas such as the kitchen, dining rooms, bistros, private dining rooms, and serveries or pantries. The Dishwasher plays an instrumental role in maintaining health and safety standards by ensuring that all dishes, cookware, silverware, glassware, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored. Additionally, this role requires completing janitorial tasks, assisting with food preparation and plating when necessary, and contributing to team efforts in maintaining an orderly, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • one year job-related experience preferred
  • ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
  • compliance with safety regulations and procedures
  • availability to complete required training and certifications including CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler Card as applicable
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • physical ability to perform cleaning and dishwashing tasks

Job Qualifications

  • One year job-related experience preferred
  • high school diploma or GED
  • completion of CPR and First Aid training may be required
  • ServSafe Food Handler Card may be required
  • Local Health Department Food Handler Card may be required
  • effective written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to handle multiple priorities
  • good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Set-up and maintain dish and pot washing areas
  • operate dish machines according to manufacturer instructions
  • perform dishwashing tasks to wash and sanitize dishes, china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware
  • maintain accurate dish machine and pot and pan sink temperature and sanitation logs and report issues promptly
  • maintain equipment logs and report any problems
  • complete assigned kitchen cleaning duties and maintain cleaning logs
  • clean kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, freezers, worktables, prep sinks, ice makers, coffee machines, hoods and ventilation screens
  • perform janitorial duties like sweeping, mopping, washing walls and ceilings, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash
  • assist with food preparation and plating as needed
  • ensure proper storage of cookware, china, glassware, utensils, janitorial and chemical supplies
  • assist in receiving, storage, dating, labeling, and rotation of food and non-food supplies
  • comply with occupational health and safety regulations and practices safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout
  • clean and maintain dining room and bistro
  • bus and reset tables
  • take and deliver food orders
  • prepare and serve light meals per standardized recipes
  • participate and commit to team goals and demonstrate Team Member Credo
  • commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
  • attend regular meetings including Town Hall and Department Team
  • maintain compliance in all required training
  • perform other duties as assigned
