Job Description

Amavida is an award-winning, 32-acre resort-style senior living community located adjacent to the prestigious 279-acre regional Lakes Park in Fort Myers, Florida. Amavida is currently recruiting a part-time Dishwasher, a hospitality-focused role essential to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and operational excellence throughout the community’s dining facilities. This position involves setting up, operating, and shutting down the dishwashing machine, handling the proper cleaning of all culinary utensils, pots, pans, plates, glassware, and silverware. The dishwasher ensures that all items are handled with care and stored correctly for subsequent use.

The Dishwasher also performs important daily responsibilities such as monitoring dish machine temperatures to guarantee safe and effective operation, inspecting dishware for damage, and maintaining the overall sanitation and organization of the kitchen and dishwashing areas. The role is critical in supporting the hospitality team to deliver a seamless dining experience for all residents. This position offers a pay range of $14.50 to $16.00 per hour based on experience and works weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • At least six months experience in a commercial kitchen operation is preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively

Job Duties

  • Exemplify at all times community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization
  • Wash dishes and kitchen utensils and inspect all dishware and glassware, ensuring highest standards of cleanliness
  • Monitor the temperature of the dishwashing machine on a daily basis to ensure the machine is operating properly
  • Notify the Director promptly of any unacceptable temperature readings
  • Remove from service all cracked or broken dishes or damaged utensils that might be hazardous to residents
  • Notify the Director of damage
  • Store dishes, glassware, and utensils properly for use at the next mealtime
  • Dispose of all trash in a proper manner
  • Clean dishwashing machine inside and out after each shift
  • Deep-clean kitchen on a monthly basis
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floor, walk-in refrigerator, and freezer each evening
  • Perform assigned cleaning assignments according to established policies and utilize the proper cleaning chemicals
  • Keep work areas clean and uncluttered
  • Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner
