This role is integral to maintaining the hygiene and safety standards of Live Oak Bank’s food services environment. The position focuses on ensuring all dishware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of dishwashing machinery and related equipment, ensuring compliance with sanitary guidelines to provide a safe and pleasant environment for both staff and customers. This role demands a hands-on approach to cleanliness, attention to detail, and an enthusiastic commitment to workplace safety.
In this role, you will be 100% responsible for the cleanliness of all dishware and kitchen equipment, including tasks such as careful handling of china and glassware to prevent breakage, maintaining cleanliness and operability of the dishwashing area, and ensuring proper stock levels of detergents and cleaning supplies. You will run, load, and unload the dish machine, carefully monitor water temperature and cleaning agent levels, and manage waste throughout the kitchen and dining areas. Your duties will also include restocking clean service ware, conducting daily cleaning checklists, and collaborating with the kitchen manager when maintenance is required.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in dishwashing or similar role preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and team player
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Willingness to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, humid and noisy environment
Job Qualifications
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings
- Knowledge of sanitary guidelines
- Working knowledge of dish machine specifications and operation

- Physical stamina to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift, transport and stack dish racks and deliveries up to 50 pounds

- Ability to work carefully in a wet, humid, noisy fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Duties
- Be 100% responsible for cleanliness and sanitizing of dishware, silverware, pots and pans, kitchen equipment
- Handle china and glassware carefully to prevent breakage
- Keep dish room and dishwashing equipment clean and in good working order
- Notify kitchen manager of functional or mechanical issues
- Monitor and maintain stock of detergents and cleaning supplies
- Load, run and unload dish machine
- Monitor water temperature, detergent, sanitizer and rinse levels
- Remove trash, recycling and compost routinely
- Monitor bus tubs and maintain soap and sanitizer buckets
- Restock all clean and dry service ware, utensils, pots and pans
- Perform additional tasks as requested
- Breakdown and sanitize dish machine at end of day
- Sweep and mop dish room
- Follow and complete opening and closing checklists
