The Dishwasher role at Mark's Feed Store is vital to maintaining the overall efficiency and cleanliness of the kitchen and dining environment. As a Dishwasher, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely washing and sanitization of dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment, supporting kitchen staff to keep operations running seamlessly. Beyond dishwashing, the role involves maintaining a clean and organized dishwashing area, restocking supplies, assisting with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen workstations and floors, and occasionally supporting food preparation tasks. Your efforts will contribute directly to the high standards of service that keep customers coming back. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (4-8+ hours) with periodic breaks
  • Perform repetitive motions including frequent use of hands and arms for tasks such as chopping, stirring, carrying, and operating equipment
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, stretching, twisting, and reaching above eye level
  • Capability to walk up and down stairs and use a step ladder as needed
  • Occasional sitting, talking, and active listening as required by the role
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly as part of job duties
  • Use appropriate lifting equipment or assistance when handling heavier loads
  • Ability to move around the kitchen quickly and efficiently
  • Compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work in varying temperature zones including hot kitchen areas and cold storage areas

Job Duties

  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment in a timely manner to support kitchen staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, ensuring that all supplies are stocked and ready for use
  • Assist in cleaning and sanitizing workstations, floors, and other kitchen areas including trash removal
  • Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash items as necessary
  • Ensure all dishes and equipment are properly sanitized according to food safety standards
  • Help with food prep when needed such as peeling, chopping, and storing ingredients
  • Assist with restocking clean dishes, glassware, and utensils in their appropriate locations
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure dishes and utensils are available when needed
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a team-oriented work environment
  • Follow all health and safety regulations including proper handling of chemicals and food items
