The General Utility role at Guest Services, Inc. is a pivotal position focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational efficiency within the service environment. This full-time position offers an hourly wage of 13.50 USD. The General Utility is tasked with essential daily duties such as washing dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, and all related food preparation and serving items using rigorous sanitation procedures. Beyond kitchen duties, the role extends to cleaning service and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and safety maintenance to ensure that all areas meet health compliance requirements.
The position demands a combination of physical stamina and attention to detail. Employees must be capable of working in various environments including wet, slippery, hot, and cold conditions, frequently lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, and standing throughout the workday. The role requires frequent physical activity such as bending, lifting, climbing steps, and moving safely and effectively within a fast-paced kitchen or dining environment.
In addition to cleaning and maintenance, the General Utility assists in inventory management tasks such as loading and unloading deliveries and stocking storerooms. Communication skills are critical, as employees must effectively report safety issues and cooperate with other team members to sustain a smooth operation. Operating standard commercial automatic dishwashing equipment and handling various cleaning supplies are part of the daily responsibilities.

Job Requirements
- Physical ability to move about frequently on foot
- Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently
- Regularly lift, carry, and push up to 30 lbs, frequently up to 40 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for the entire work day
- Comfortable working in wet and slippery conditions
- Frequent exposure to hot and damp environments
- Frequent immersion of hands in water
- Ability to climb steps regularly
- Withstand temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in, and grill areas
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers in English
- Physical presence at job site is essential
Job Qualifications
- Partial High School education
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred
- Strong sanitation habits
- Strong customer service abilities
- ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management
- Physical and mental ability to perform lifting, standing, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to read and write work-related documents in English
- Speech recognition and clarity in English
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies
Job Duties
- Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and cooking supplies using proper sanitation procedures
- Pull trash from trash receptacles
- replace trash bags as needed
- clear trash from tables and floors/grounds
- Clean floor area of any spillage of water, detergent and/or food stuffs per safety and sanitation guidelines
- Fill condiments, utensils, and other supplies with stock as needed
- Loading and unloading of inventory from trucks
- stocking storeroom
- Maintain the kitchen, serving, and dining areas in clean and orderly condition at all times by sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, wiping counters and equipment and organizing shelves in order to maintain a sanitary work station and to meet mandated health compliance requirements
- Maintain awareness of safety issues, and report them immediately to your manager
