Job Requirements
- minimum age of eighteen (18)
- american citizenship or permanent resident status
- ability to perform physically demanding tasks including frequent lifting of up to 20 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- ability to stand for entire shift and work around 12 hours per day
- ability to live and work onboard a vessel for up to 28 weeks
- compliance with no alcohol consumption policy during employment
- ability to quickly climb ladders, open and pass through a 20-inch diameter hatch
- availability to work 7 days per week while onboard
- willingness to undergo pre-employment drug testing and training
- adaptability to ship motions and working conditions
- temporary full-time employment status with no guarantee of continued employment beyond term
Job Qualifications
- at least eighteen (18) years of age
- american citizen or green card holder
- able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- successful completion of pre-employment drug test
- ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
- good communication and teamwork skills
- compliance with grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
Job Duties
- responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the galley including cutlery, glassware, dishes, and surrounding areas
- receive and carry food deliveries which require lifting boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs
- ensure that the commercial dishwasher is operating properly and efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to management
- create genuine rapport with our guests and cater to all galley requests in an efficient manner
- perform other functions such as greeting guests upon embarkation and assisting during special events including afternoon teas, snacks and evening entertainment
- participate in all shipboard safety training and emergency procedures
- maintain compliance with American Cruise Lines grooming standards and safety policies
