We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Dishwasher to join our Food and Beverage team at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe. This full-time, non-management role is essential to maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards crucial to our culinary operations. The position offers an hourly wage of $21.96, reflecting our commitment to fair compensation for vital back-of-house roles. The Dishwasher plays a key role in the smooth functioning of our kitchens by operating and maintaining cleaning equipment including dishwashing machines and pot-scrubbing stations. Responsibilities include washing and disinfecting kitchen and storage areas, tools, knives, and equipment, ensuring that all items are sanitized and ready for use in accordance with health and safety standards. The role also involves receiving deliveries, properly storing perishables, and rotating stock to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

In addition to these tasks, the dishwasher is responsible for maintaining clean work environments by cleaning and mopping assigned areas, managing trash and recycling duties, and adhering to all safety protocols. Candidates must be capable of handling physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive tasks requiring bending, stretching, and standing for extended periods. The position prefers candidates with open and weekend availability to support peak operational hours. Job Duties

  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including dish washing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
  • Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock
  • Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes
  • Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, send soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing
  • Rack and spray all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue
  • Sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware
  • Breakdown dirty bus tubs
  • Empty and maintain trashcans and dumpster area
  • Clean and mop all areas in assigned departments
  • Dispose of glass and break down cardboard boxes for recycling
  • Follow all company safety and security policies, report maintenance needs and unsafe conditions
  • Protect company assets and communicate professionally
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Perform additional duties as requested by supervisors
