Responsibilities include washing dishes and utensils for the kitchen, deli, and café areas, ensuring all items are cleaned according to health department regulations. Cleaning duties extend to scrubbing and wiping surfaces, managing kitchen trash and recycling, and assisting in upkeep projects. The role requires the safe operation of department equipment, with the responsibility to notify management of any maintenance needs, ensuring the team can work without interruption. Monitoring inventory levels and reporting shortages is also an important aspect, facilitating smooth restocking. The successful candidate helps manage deliveries based on the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle, carries out opening and closing procedures, and maintains cleanliness in dishwashing stations and storage spaces. Those employed are expected to be flexible and willing to assist with additional tasks as assigned by Food Service Management, potentially including attending department meetings. The position is ideal for someone who is physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working with repetitive motions and meat handling. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodation
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Willingness to work with meat
- Must be able to perform functions with repetitive wrist and arm motion
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Wash dishes and utensils for kitchen, deli and café following established procedures in compliance with health department regulations
- Clean kitchen, scrubbing and wiping all surfaces following established procedures in compliance with health department regulations
- Take out kitchen trash and recycling promptly
- Cleaning projects as assigned
- Use department equipment safely
- Advise Food Service Management of equipment repair needs
- Alert Food Service Management to low supplies or out-of-stocks of basic ingredients and supplies
- Assist Food Service staff putting away deliveries following the rules of FIFO
- Carry out established opening & closing procedures
- Maintain dish washing station and storage areas
- Perform other tasks and duties assigned by Food Service Management (e.g. attend department meetings)
