Job Description
Outback Steakhouse, operated by Out West Restaurant Group, is a renowned Australian-themed restaurant chain that has been delighting customers since its inception in March 1988. As the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse, Out West Restaurant Group prides itself on maintaining a culture of respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm that fosters a welcoming and enthusiastic work environment. Known for doing things uniquely and seriously valuing food quality, Outback Steakhouse combines great food with fun, creating a memorable dining experience for every guest. The company deeply believes in treating people "Just Right," a philosophy that underpins their commitment to both their customers and employees, who they endearingly call "Outbackers." This culture not only nurtures outstanding customer service but also encourages personal and professional growth for all team members.
The Dishwasher role at Outback Steakhouse is an essential position focused on maintaining the cleanliness and organization of dishes and small wares within the restaurant. This role ensures that every plate and utensil meet state regulations for rinse and wash temperatures, directly contributing to the guest's dining experience by providing spotless tableware that showcases their meals perfectly. The Dishwasher also handles waste disposal and laundry bag removal, supporting the kitchen’s smooth operations and overall sanitation. This position requires a keen attention to detail, an understanding of the dishwashing machinery including its chemical components, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Dishwashers play a significant role in upholding health and safety standards, rectifying unsafe practices or conditions, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the restaurant. This job requires physical capability to lift and move items, adaptability to work in both hot and cold environments, and the ability to work varied shifts including opens, swings, and closes.
Working at Outback Steakhouse means joining a team recognized for its excellence and community involvement, as evidenced by the 2022 International Franchise Association’s Franchisee of the Year Award for Exemplifying Excellence in Local Community Service. Employees enjoy a supportive workplace with benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, life insurance, and meal compensation when eligible. The restaurant remains closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas to allow employees to spend time with their families. Outback Steakhouse fosters an inclusive, drug-free workplace and encourages diversity in hiring without discrimination, offering a welcoming environment for all individuals. This is an excellent career opportunity for those who seek both professional development and the joy of contributing to a valued dining experience at a reputable restaurant chain.
