Job Description
The hiring organization is a healthcare facility committed to delivering compassionate, person-centered care while honoring the dignity of every individual. This establishment upholds a culture of inclusivity and diversity, ensuring equal employment opportunities for all qualified candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status. This organization operates within the hospital and extended care industry, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, respect, and safety in all job functions and interactions. Full-time employment is offered for the Utility position with a scheduled shift from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Utility role is a vital part of the food services team, responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment by ensuring all pots, utensils, and kitchenware are thoroughly washed and properly stored. The role involves assisting in the dish room, restocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation and organization in food preparation and dining areas. Duties include not only cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and waste management but also ensuring all items are stored correctly and that operations run smoothly by coordinating with the kitchen staff. The Utility position supports the efficiency of breakfast and other meal service operations by stocking items early in the shift and working closely with cooks and bakers to meet daily requirements. Employees must adhere strictly to hygiene, grooming, and uniform policies and perform all duties safely. This role does not require any licensure or certification but prefers individuals who are at least 16 years old, with a high school diploma seen as desirable though not mandatory. Prior experience in hospital or extended care food service environments is an added advantage but not compulsory, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or continue a career in food service within the healthcare industry.
