Job Description
Outback Steakhouse is a renowned Australian-themed casual dining restaurant that has been delighting customers since its inception in 1988. As part of Out West Restaurant Group, the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse, this establishment prides itself on offering quality food in a fun and welcoming environment. The company is committed to creating a culture where employees, known as "Outbackers," are treated "Just Right," fostering respect, camaraderie, and enthusiasm among its team. Outback Steakhouse not only focuses on delivering an exceptional dining experience but also on positively impacting the lives of its employees and the local community, a commitment recognized by the International Franchise Association's Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022 for excellence in community service.
The role of Dishwasher at Outback Steakhouse is a vital part of the kitchen operations, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of dishes and small wares to support the kitchen and dining experience. Dishwashers will be responsible for maintaining hygiene and safety standards by ensuring that all washed items meet the state's rinse and wash temperature criteria. In addition to dishwashing, the role includes tasks such as trash disposal and linen bag removal, contributing to the overall cleanliness and flow of the restaurant.
This position offers more than just a job; it provides an opportunity to be part of a team that values teamwork and personal growth. Dishwashers help create an "AUS-SOME" dining experience by ensuring that every plate and piece of silverware is spotless, thereby enhancing the presentation of food and contributing to customer satisfaction. Employees receive perks such as health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, life insurance, meal compensation benefits when eligible, and paid days off after 90 days of employment. Additionally, the restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, allowing employees to spend these important holidays with family and friends.
Working as a Dishwasher requires maintaining organization and efficiency while washing dishes and utensils, practicing food safety and sanitation, keeping stock on the kitchen and cook line, and performing general cleaning duties. Understanding and operating dishwashing machinery and chemicals safely and effectively is crucial for success in this role. The job also involves physical demands, such as lifting up to 30 pounds, working in varied temperature environments, and using fine motor skills for handling equipment.
Outback Steakhouse embraces diversity and inclusion, offering equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status. The company is also committed to workplace safety, prohibiting drugs and alcohol on the premises and requiring all new employees to complete the E-Verify program.
Overall, the Dishwasher position at Outback Steakhouse is ideal for individuals looking to work in a supportive, community-oriented environment where they can gain valuable experience in the restaurant industry while enjoying competitive benefits and a positive workplace culture.
