Job Description
Red Lobster is a renowned family-owned restaurant chain that has been serving guests for over fifty years, known for its commitment to providing fresh seafood and a memorable dining experience. From its humble beginnings with a single location, Red Lobster has grown to a family of more than 500 restaurants, each upholding the company’s founding passion for connecting people to the coast through their meals and moments shared inside the restaurant. Red Lobster is not just a place to eat or work but is deeply rooted in the communities it serves, creating a welcoming environment where new friends often become familiar faces.
Red Lobster offers competitive wages with weekly pay to its employees, along with flexible scheduling designed to accommodate different lifestyles and commitments. The company provides various benefits, including affordable medical, dental, and vision coverage starting at less than $10 per week, life insurance, short-term disability, and other voluntary benefits. Employees also have access to a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a company match after one year of service. Anniversary pay rewards long-standing team members, and discounted shift meals and dining discounts are available to staff. The company encourages career growth, providing training and opportunities for advancement, making it an ideal workplace for those looking to build a meaningful career in the restaurant industry.
The role of Dishwasher/Utility at Red Lobster plays a vital part in the smooth operation of the restaurant, ensuring a clean and safe environment while supporting the kitchen team. The dishwasher/utility team member is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all dishware, flatware, glassware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils, maintaining hygiene standards to uphold guest satisfaction and safety regulations. This role involves operating dishwashing equipment safely and correctly, as well as managing waste by emptying trash from the kitchen and other areas. Teamwork is essential, as this position supports cooks with prep work, including preparing the restaurant’s signature Cheddar Bay biscuits, and other tasks that contribute to the overall kitchen operation.
Attention to detail is crucial, as dishwasher/utility staff must focus on cleanliness and safety protocols at all times. The job requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long shifts of 8 to 12 hours, and the capacity to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds safely. Prior culinary experience is preferred but not required, and a team-oriented attitude is essential to ensure a positive work environment while maintaining high standards for food quality and customer service.
Red Lobster is proud to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace, committed to equal employment opportunities for all employees and applicants. BIG plans are on the horizon for the company, offering an exciting future for individuals who join the Red Lobster family today. With its strong community ties, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for advancement, Red Lobster is a great place to work and grow a career in the restaurant industry.
