The company prides itself on combining serious food quality with a fun dining environment, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Out West Restaurant Group cultivates a respectful and energetic culture, emphasizing camaraderie and enthusiasm. The team refers to its employees as "Outbackers," highlighting the familial and community-oriented values that are deeply embedded in the company's DNA. This group firmly believes that treating people "Just Right" leads to shared success, instilling a customer-first approach that mirrors hospitality as if guests were welcomed into a personal home.
Joining Out West Restaurant Group means becoming a part of an award-winning organization recognized nationally, such as receiving the Monitor 200 Award for ranking in the Top 50 Franchisees in the U.S. for four consecutive years, and the International Franchise Association's Franchisee of the Year award in 2022 for excellence in local community service. The group is committed to fair employment practices, supporting diversity and inclusion by not discriminating based on race, sex, religion, age, disability, or any other protected status. Additionally, Out West Restaurant Group actively contributes to charitable causes like California Care and CORE, reflecting their dedication to the wellbeing of restaurant employees and their families during difficult times.
The role offered is an hourly and non-exempt kitchen position that supports smooth and efficient restaurant operations. This position involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring kitchen tools and equipment are properly cleaned and stored, and aiding in routine cleaning tasks. The position requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting objects up to 30 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in both hot and cold environments amid fast-paced kitchen conditions. Emphasizing teamwork, the role expects collaboration with other restaurant areas to ensure an outstanding dining experience for every guest.
Outbackers enjoy numerous benefits, including comprehensive health insurance packages covering medical, dental, and vision for employees who meet ACA eligibility criteria. Paid sick leave is provided according to California state and local laws, and employees become eligible for a paid day off after 90 days of employment. Beyond legal benefits, employees have access to growth opportunities such as the Shift Leader program, extensive on-the-job training, and flexible scheduling. Additional perks include meal discounts, company-sponsored Employee Assistance Programs, and distinctive holidays off such as Thanksgiving and Christmas to spend time with family and friends. This role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $16.90 to $21.00, emphasizing both career growth and a supportive work environment. The company operates a strict compliance culture adhering to all California wage and hour laws and offers reasonable accommodations as required by law to support all employees.
