Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in providing food services and facilities management, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its clients and employees. At the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Sodexo is seeking diligent individuals to join as Dishwashers in their food production teams. Sodexo understands the importance of creating a supportive, inclusive work environment where every employee can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the company’s success. As a Fortune 500 company, Sodexo values fairness, respect, and diversity, ensuring a workplace culture where all individuals feel valued and heard. Sodexo’s operations span food service, catering, facilities management, and integrated solutions across various sectors worldwide, underscoring their commitment to quality and comprehensive service.

The Dishwasher position at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is available as full-time or part-time, with an hourly wage ranging from $12.50 to $14.50 depending on experience and shift hours. Scheduling is flexible but varies, with open availability preferred to accommodate various shifts including days and hours that will be detailed during the interview process. This role is ideal for individuals who appreciate a dynamic work environment with room for personal and professional growth, as Sodexo invests in ongoing training and development.

The primary focus of the Dishwasher role is to support kitchen operations by maintaining exceptional cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the food service areas and related facilities. Dishwashers play a crucial role in ensuring that all kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, walls, and storage areas meet sanitation standards to ensure food safety and a smooth, efficient kitchen workflow. Tasks also include managing supplies, handling waste, and assisting kitchen staff with set-up and break-down duties.

In this role, employees are expected to wash dishes either manually or using dishwashing machines, sanitize work surfaces including tables, refrigerators, and meat blocks, and maintain general floor cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Additionally, they must restock essential supplies like soap and paper towels regularly and dispose of trash appropriately. Due to the physical demands of the role, dishwashers must be able to stand or walk for long periods, bend, stoop, push or pull materials, and lift weights routinely up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Sodexo proudly offers a flexible and supportive work environment conducive to maintaining work-life balance and advancing individual careers. Employees benefit from a comprehensive package that includes paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, a 401k plan, and discounts on various programs. Some locations also provide additional perks such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, public transportation support, or parking privileges.

What truly sets Sodexo apart is its commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity employment. The company fosters a culture of belonging where diversity, equality, and respect are paramount, allowing each person to express themselves authentically and contribute their unique ideas. This cultural foundation strengthens teamwork and overall job satisfaction, making Sodexo not just a place of employment but a community focused on shared growth and success. Prospective employees are encouraged to engage with the company during the interview process to explore the full scope of benefits and responsibilities, reflecting Sodexo's transparent and supportive approach to recruitment and workforce management.
