The role of a Back of House (BOH) Team Member at ACGBBQ is integral to the smooth operation of the restaurant, focusing primarily on ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within the kitchen and supporting areas. As a BOH Team Member, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness, cooperating effectively with other staff members, and ensuring the kitchen remains well-supplied with clean dishes and utensils. This position demands attention to detail and adherence to safety and sanitation regulations, as well as flexibility to perform a wide range of tasks including bussing, rinsing, and racking dishes, operating dishwashing machines, cleaning pots and pans, emptying trash cans, and maintaining the cleanliness of restrooms and dining areas. Beyond these duties, the role also requires maintaining the cleanliness of the parking area and dumpster zone to uphold the inviting atmosphere that guests experience at Sonny's BBQ.

The job is physically demanding and fast-paced, requiring the ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift and move items up to 35 pounds, and work under conditions that may involve exposure to humid environments and cleaning chemicals. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Related experience and/or training in the restaurant industry
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry and or move up to 35 pounds continually
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Can be calm under pressure
  • Must be dependable and maintain a flexible schedule

Job Duties

  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene
  • Work cooperatively with all other staff
  • Maintaining a clean workstation at all times
  • Operate a dish machine using proper levels of chemicals
  • Follow all regulations and system standards for sanitation
  • Bussing, sorting, rinsing and racking dishes after use
  • Wash all pots and pans after each use
  • Empty trash cans
  • Maintain and keep clean dumpster area
  • Place silverware in appropriate storage areas
  • Keep the kitchen supplied with clean dishes
  • Maintain floors, work area, and restrooms clean, including trash disposal
  • Clean the restrooms regularly
  • Maintain the parking area clean and clear of trash
  • Ensure our restaurant maintains a clean and inviting atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned
