Job Requirements

  • Must have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience
  • Culinary training preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred or must complete training prior to working on the line
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight and volume
  • Ability to follow safety instructions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to handle difficult situations positively
  • Flexible schedule including holidays and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience preferred
  • Culinary training preferred
  • ServSafe training certification or willingness to complete training
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
  • Working knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume
  • Ability to follow instructions on safe use of chemical and cleaning materials
  • Effective team player with supervisors and coworkers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations positively
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
  • Flexible working hours including holidays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through the point of sale system
  • Only make items ordered through the point of sale system and act with integrity
  • Accommodate special requests with management approval to create tailored guest experiences
  • Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency
  • Cooperate with kitchen staff to ensure simultaneous, high-quality, timely food delivery
  • Remake items as instructed by supervisor or manager
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines including proper temperature control, labeling, and avoiding cross-contamination
  • Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work areas during and after shifts
  • Keep kitchen stocked with dry products and prep materials and restock consistently
  • Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and eliminate waste
  • Maintain accurate waste logs for discarded items
  • Report inventory levels to supervisor and kitchen manager
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Work safely using proper protective equipment and assistance for heavy lifting
  • Lock and secure food and equipment
  • Follow all opening, mid, and closing procedures
  • Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
