The company specializes in food service management, catering, facilities management, and other integrated solutions designed to create memorable experiences for clients and employees. Founded with the mission to contribute to economic, social, and environmental progress, Sodexo operates worldwide and is committed to fostering inclusivity, respect, and equal opportunity in the workplace. Their culture emphasizes fairness, respect, and belonging, encouraging employees to bring their authentic selves to work while sharing ideas and opinions to make a collective impact. With a focus on both employee well-being and client satisfaction, Sodexo offers a supportive environment and values diversity in all its forms.

The role of Dishroom Lead at Sodexo's location in Hikma, Columbus, is a full-time position paying $18 per hour, with workdays limited to weekdays only, providing a stable and predictable schedule for employees. As the Dishroom Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring that kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position demands someone who is a team unifier and a solutions-oriented leader, capable of directing and motivating other team members while maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards. You will be responsible for supervising kitchen cleaning activities, including the maintenance and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and utensils, all crucial to delivering a safe food preparation environment.

In this leadership capacity, you will act as the senior team member within your designated area, providing clear direction, support, and oversight to dishroom employees. Tasks include washing dishes and pots by hand or using machines, polishing silverware, sweeping and mopping floors, waste disposal, and cleaning worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks to uphold hygiene standards. Additionally, you will handle the transfer of supplies and equipment between storage and work areas. Punctuality and reliable attendance are essential attributes for success in this role.

Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package aimed at supporting both employees and their families, featuring paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401k retirement plans, discount programs, and more. The company provides ongoing training and advancement opportunities designed to transform this position from just a job into a fulfilling career. Some locations may offer additional site-specific benefits such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation support. Sodexo is transparent about the variability of benefits and duties across locations and encourages open dialogue about these during the interview process.

Joining Sodexo means becoming part of an organization that values culture and belonging as core principles. They maintain a workplace where employees feel valued for who they are and are treated with dignity and respect. Their commitment to equal employment opportunity ensures a fair hiring process and support for all candidates, including those needing assistance with the application process. The Dishroom Lead role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with at least one year of related experience who are reliable, adaptable, and committed to fostering a safe and healthy work environment. This position not only offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the operation of a busy kitchen but also to grow within a company that is dedicated to making a better everyday for everyone.
