Hy-Vee is currently seeking to hire a Dishroom Clerk to join the Market Grille department. The position is classified as a non-exempt role, meaning it is hourly paid and subject to overtime regulations. The starting hourly wage ranges between $16.00 and $20.00, depending on experience. Candidates should be physically capable of performing medium work, including lifting items that weigh up to 50 pounds, and able to engage in activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, and repetitive motions. The work environment may expose individuals to noise, temperature extremes, cleaning chemicals, and equipment hazards, all common in a kitchen setting. Familiarity with kitchen tools such as industrial dishwashers, trash compactors, mops, brooms, and similar equipment is expected.
Hy-Vee does not have a specific education requirement for this role, and it welcomes candidates with up to six months of related work experience or less. Job Duties
- provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store

- takes the department garbage to the compactor or designated area
- maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
- washes department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, etc.
- handles food in a safe manner and ensures the work area is always clean and neat
- removes trash in a timely manner
- adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines
- reports to work when scheduled and on time
- assists in other areas of store as needed
