As a Dish Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of the restaurant by ensuring that all dishware and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to meet health and safety standards. This position is vital to maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining areas, as clean dishware is essential to the overall guest experience.
The Dish Machine Operator will also be responsible for performing additional sanitation and housekeeping tasks as assigned. This includes cleaning and maintaining dishwashing equipment, ensuring the work area is clean and organized, and supporting the restaurant staff to uphold the company’s policies and governmental regulations related to health and safety. Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as the DMO will work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient and effective service.
This role requires physical stamina as the DMO must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours a shift), lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, and have full mobility of hands and arms to perform repetitive tasks such as loading and unloading dishware into the machine. Flexibility and teamwork are key components, as duties may change based on the needs of the restaurant and direction from the acting supervisor.
