The Director of Surgical Services at Rio Grande Regional Hospital plays a critical leadership role ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered surgical care. This position involves overseeing the operational functions and staffing of surgical units and departments, including strategic forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director is responsible for cultivating a culture of accountability and collaboration to support facility objectives. This includes implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and outcomes, managing variations in clinical practices to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The Director fosters interdisciplinary communication and sets nursing and operational policies to meet patient and family needs effectively. Another core responsibility is enhancing patient experience through strategic initiatives and staff accountability, while promoting employee engagement, development, and retention. The role additionally drives growth by collaborating with administration and physicians to expand services and refine offerings.
