At HelloFresh, the culture is deeply rooted in inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation. The company prides itself on creating a diverse workplace that nurtures employees' growth and connects its teams with customers through shared values and feedback that shape their product and service offerings. HelloFresh is committed to equal opportunity employment and accommodating the diverse needs of its workforce, ensuring all employees feel a sense of belonging and can thrive. They actively promote flexibility and support throughout the hiring process and beyond, making sure their actions reflect their mission of sharing great meals and fostering community across the globe.

The role of Director, Strategic Sourcing, Packaging for North America is a pivotal leadership position within the Procurement Leadership team at HelloFresh. Reporting to the VP of Strategic Sourcing, this position carries high impact as it drives integration and strategic development of packaging sourcing across North America. HelloFresh is currently merging distinct packaging organizations from Canada and the U.S. into a unified North American function, expanding product portfolios, and building supply chain infrastructure to support growth. The Director will oversee strategy and manage a team responsible for a wide range of packaging categories, from corrugated materials and liners to media, ice, and ready-to-eat packaging formats.

This role demands a strategic thinker and seasoned leader with a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering measurable commercial results. The Director will provide leadership, coaching, and development to Strategy Managers while fostering a culture of urgency, ownership, and continuous improvement aligned with HelloFresh's DNA. They will be deeply involved in strategy formulation, setting and monitoring OKRs related to cost management, supply chain resilience, supplier performance, innovation, and team development. The Director will also initiate opportunities to leverage global sourcing platforms and explore innovative supply chain models, potentially including insourcing of packaging inputs like recipe card printing and liner production, based on commercial viability.

Operational excellence is also a critical focus area for this role, as the Director will lead cost savings initiatives, manage multi-million dollar contract negotiations using a total cost of ownership perspective, and strengthen supplier networks to support menu expansion and customization. They will ensure supplier alignment with quality and sustainability standards by closely partnering with Packaging Engineering. Moreover, the role requires continuous improvement and agility in inventory management and supply planning to reduce risks and increase responsiveness.

The Director will act as a key liaison within the company, coordinating with Product, Operations, Finance, and Engineering teams to ensure packaging sourcing supports a diverse and expanding product range. They will manage competing priorities across various North American business units and brand lines, providing clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership. Representing the North American packaging sourcing function in global forums, they will seek cross-border sourcing opportunities that benefit from economies of scale and HelloFresh's international presence.

Candidates must bring more than 12 years of progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experience, with significant expertise in packaging categories. Experience leading diverse, geographically distributed teams, managing RFPs, contract negotiations, category strategy development, and supplier performance are essential. Strong financial acumen, including budget management and cost analysis, is required. Candidates should also have handled organizational change and integration, preferably in fast-growing multi-brand environments, and hold relevant degrees in supply chain management or business administration. This is a high-responsibility role demanding agility, strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven company.

HelloFresh offers a competitive salary ranging from $158,550 to $200,000 USD, participation in a 401(k) with a company match, generous paid time off including sabbatical and expanded parental leave, comprehensive health and wellness benefits effective from day one, tuition reimbursement after two years of service, substantial discounts on meal subscriptions across the HelloFresh family of brands, and an inclusive, collaborative work environment that values employee resource groups and innovation. This position is also eligible for the HelloFresh equity plan, reflecting the company's commitment to rewarding leadership and long-term contribution.
