Job Description
Invited is a premier operator of private clubs across the United States, with a rich history dating back to 1957. The company excels in creating exceptional member experiences and managing more than 130 country clubs, city clubs, and athletic clubs nationwide. At Invited, the focus goes beyond just offering outstanding amenities; they aim to build meaningful relationships, enrich the lives of their members, guests, and employees, and foster an inclusive and engaging environment. Their clubs feature championship golf courses, modern workspaces, handcrafted cuisine, resort-style pools, and cutting-edge fitness and racquet facilities, making them a leader in the hospitality and service industry.
Firestone Country Club located in Akron, Ohio, a prestigious golf and country club under the Invited umbrella, is currently seeking a Director of Restaurants. This role plays a pivotal role in sustaining the club's reputation for excellence by overseeing the daily operations of the food and beverage outlets. The Director of Restaurants acts as a key leader reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage, working closely with the Executive Chef and other team members to uphold high service standards, ensure operational efficiency, and meet financial performance targets.
The Director of Restaurants is entrusted with the management of 1-4 food and beverage venues within the club, ensuring consistent quality and seamless service delivery. This leadership position requires a hands-on approach during both high and low-volume periods to maintain smooth operations and member satisfaction. As part of their leadership duties, the Director is responsible for staffing coordination, scheduling within budget constraints, inventory management, and enforcing safety protocols compliant with federal and state regulations.
A critical aspect of this role involves member engagement and communication. The Director fosters exceptional member relations by creating a welcoming and high-quality dining environment. They are expected to develop and implement effective service recovery programs and keep members consistently pleased with the dining experience. Additionally, the Director leads employee development initiatives through performance reviews, cross-training, and coaching for career advancement, thereby building a knowledgeable and motivated team centered on teamwork, respect, and shared goals.
This role demands a mix of operational management proficiency and leadership skills, including a solid background in club management or food and beverage operations. Strong communication skills and the ability to handle confidential material such as member and employee data are essential. The Director is also responsible for adhering to and promoting compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations, and actively participates in staff training and development.
Invited values its team members and provides a comprehensive Total Rewards package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, and generous paid time off. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a top-tier hospitality experience within a respected organization continuously evolving to enhance the club member experience. Join Invited at Firestone Country Club and become part of a dynamic team dedicated to hospitality excellence and member satisfaction.
