The role available is a leadership position within Easterseals Southern California's Project Management Office (PMO). This position provides development, leadership, and oversight for project managers, solution consultants, and test analysts, managing a diverse portfolio of projects aligned with the organization's mission and strategic goals. The successful candidate will take charge of standardizing project execution, giving expert guidance on project management and solution consulting practices, and ensuring projects meet their objectives through consistent tracking, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. This role also includes managing day-to-day operational aspects of the PMO and the Finance department, as well as overseeing staff management including 4-8 direct reports. The position carries a competitive salary ranging from $116,000 to $144,000 annually and requires a strategic mindset with solid expertise in project portfolio management, governance, and execution. The leader will collaborate closely with governance committees, project sponsors, and senior leadership to prioritize and evaluate project requests, validate business cases, and align efforts with organizational standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Project management certification (PMP, PGMP, PfMP, CSM)
  • 10-15 years of portfolio, program and project management and solution consulting experience
  • Minimum 7 years supervisory experience
  • Experience in Demand Management and Strategic Planning in a formal PMO environment
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards
  • Maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed
  • Must pass drug testing and post-offer physical evaluation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record/fingerprint clearance
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and project management software
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Project management certification (PMP, PGMP, PfMP, CSM)

  • Experience in Demand Management and Strategic Planning in a formal PMO environment
  • Process improvement certification such as LEAN Six Sigma, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred
  • Strong administrative, leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Smartsheet, JIRA, and project management tools
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations including HIPAA or ability to acquire

Job Duties

  • Directly and indirectly oversee multiple program managers, project managers, project coordinators, solution consultants, test analysts and subject matter experts responsible for managing projects from initiation through execution according to PMO methodology and organizational goals
  • Work with project governance committees to evaluate new requests including technical feasibility and resource availability
  • Support business case development to validate project requests
  • Produce resourced project schedules, identify resource/system conflicts and work on resolutions
  • Manage project budgets ensuring tracking expenditures align with approved budgets
  • Manage PMO portfolio and represent PMO to stakeholders
  • Ensure solution consultants and business analysts drive business analysis, project initiation and system design
  • Ensure test analysts support solution testing for high-quality delivery
  • Develop and provide training on PMO frameworks, standardize tools, align with industry best practices
  • Maintain and publish monthly project dashboards
  • Assist in project budget development and annual planning aligned with strategic goals
  • Enable KPI/ROI tracking post implementation
  • Foster positive stakeholder relationships and ensure appropriate resource allocation
  • Conduct regular portfolio review meetings
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and quality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
