Job Description
The Denver Performing Arts Complex is a premier venue located in the heart of Denver, Colorado, known for its vibrant cultural offerings and commitment to providing exceptional entertainment experiences. This complex hosts a wide range of performances including theater, ballet, opera, and concerts, attracting diverse audiences from the local community and beyond. As a landmark institution, it serves as a hub for the arts, fostering creative expression and enriching the cultural fabric of the Denver metropolitan area. The complex's operations involve managing extensive food and beverage services that complement the artistic programming, enhancing guest satisfaction by delivering memorable dining experiences within the venue's various service areas.
The Director of Operations at the Denver Performing Arts Complex is a vital leadership role responsible for partnering closely with the General Manager to oversee and elevate all food and beverage operations. This role is designed for an experienced professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses a strong capability to drive operational excellence, financial performance, and team engagement across multiple service areas. As an individual contributor within the organization, the Director of Operations is entrusted with executing specialized technical tasks that directly impact the success of venue operations. While much of the work is achieved independently, this position requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless integration of services.
This role not only focuses on operational oversight but also significantly influences the overall guest experience by implementing standards of quality and service. Responsibilities include leading diverse food and beverage teams in delivering consistent, high-quality guest experiences, managing departmental financials including labor and inventory budgets, and maintaining stringent adherence to health, safety, and food handling regulations. The Director plays a strategic part in planning for growth and profitability, aligning operational goals with long-term business objectives, and fostering a culture centered on accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
Compensation for this position ranges from $70,975 to $91,850 annually, offering a competitive salary that reflects the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The role is suited for leaders with a Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field, or those with equivalent experience. Candidates should have extensive experience managing concessions, catering, and premium dining operations within complex environments, along with proficiency in financial management practices such as budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls. Knowledge of food safety and alcohol service standards with relevant certifications is required, complemented by operational expertise in Microsoft Office and related systems like POS, inventory, and scheduling tools.
By joining the Denver Performing Arts Complex, the Director of Operations becomes an integral part of an esteemed organization that not only values operational achievement but prioritizes creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for employees and guests alike. The role offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams in a culturally rich setting while contributing to the company’s mission of delivering outstanding entertainment and hospitality experiences. This position promises engagement with a diverse workforce and a commitment to excellence that supports both business success and community enrichment.
