Job Description

The Dragons Diamond Club is a premium event and hospitality venue known for offering an exclusive and high-end experience to its guests. It is part of the larger Dragons sports and entertainment organization, recognized for creating memorable events and fostering community engagement through diverse and dynamic programming. The Diamond Club acts as an exceptional setting for numerous externally booked events, making it a sought-after destination for social gatherings, corporate functions, and special celebrations. This establishment prides itself on providing top-tier service, impeccable event execution, and innovative marketing strategies to maintain its status as a premier venue within the region. The venue combines a luxurious atmosphere with cutting-edge amenities including advanced audiovisual equipment, versatile floor plans, and premium catering services to ensure every event is executed flawlessly.

The role of Director of Operations & Event Services at the Dragons Diamond Club is a pivotal leadership position that oversees both the operational and event execution aspects of the venue. The Director is responsible for managing every element of event planning — from initial contract execution and deposit receipt to detailed event logistics and on-site management. This includes overseeing the conversion, setup, and reset of the venue to maintain an elegant presentation standard for all events and game days. Additionally, the Director provides the primary on-site point of contact for event planners and clients, ensuring real-time support, coordination, and resolution of any issues. Embedded in the day-to-day responsibilities is close collaboration with various departments to maintain alignment and operational efficiency, including partnerships with the food and beverage services team.

This role also includes comprehensive marketing leadership, where the Director drives business growth by developing and executing innovative marketing strategies specifically for the Diamond Club. These strategies cover a broad spectrum of marketing channels such as digital advertising, social media content, email campaigns, and print collateral, all designed to increase brand awareness and boost booking rates. The Director is tasked with maintaining the Diamond Club’s website and event landing pages as primary information hubs, managing brand consistency, and representing the venue at industry events and shows to widen its reach within the market. Business development through community partnerships and tourism initiatives is another core focus.

Moreover, the Director plays a crucial role in team leadership and talent development. This includes mentoring and managing part-time event staff, particularly an Events Intern, delegating responsibilities that enhance operational functions and support professional growth, and ensuring all team members adhere to service and execution standards. Through hands-on supervision during events and continuous process refinement practices, the Director fosters an environment of excellence and efficiency that aligns with the Diamond Club’s premium service philosophy.

This full-time leadership position demands a dynamic professional with experience in event management, marketing, business development, and staff management. The Director of Operations & Event Services must exhibit exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. The position offers a competitive salary aligned with industry standards, along with opportunities to influence the strategic direction of a distinguished venue within a vibrant sports and entertainment context.
