Genmab is deeply committed to fostering a global workplace culture where each individual's unique contributions are valued. This culture drives innovative solutions that directly address the needs of patients, care partners, families, and employees. Employees at Genmab are known for being compassionate, candid, and purposeful. The company values authenticity and determination as essential traits to fulfilling its mission. While the tasks at hand are serious and impactful, the company nurtures ambition and encourages a supportive, engaging environment where employees can have fun while pursuing ambitious goals.
The role of Director, Operational Excellence, offers a strategic leadership opportunity for professionals passionate about driving continuous improvement and operational maturity in a science-driven organization. This role focuses on advancing and shaping Genmab’s Operational Excellence strategy by building on established frameworks and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Director partners with senior leaders and employees across the enterprise to prioritize improvement opportunities, drive strategic transformation projects, and embed continuous improvement principles into the organization. The position emphasizes influence, coaching, and leadership through matrix collaboration, without direct people management responsibilities.
As a Director in the Global Operational Excellence team, which currently includes ten skilled colleagues, you will play a pivotal role in governing the operational excellence strategy and portfolio. You are responsible for refining enterprise standards, methodologies, governance, and best practices that balance the scientific demands of the organization with operational efficiency. This involves leading initiatives within research, development, or technical operations portfolios, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives, and delivering measurable business benefits. You will coach senior leaders and employees on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, change leadership, and problem-solving techniques to enhance organizational capabilities.
Additionally, you'll influence cross-functional transformation by collaborating with functional leaders to identify improvement opportunities, eliminate obstacles, and implement sustainable business enhancements. The role demands a strong focus on measurement and communication, utilizing KPIs, performance reports, and governance forums to continuously monitor and sustain business impact. A critical component also involves building operational excellence capabilities through learning and communities of practice, and leveraging AI, data, and digital tools to accelerate decision-making and execution. Championing a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning is essential, ensuring that continuous improvement becomes an integral part of everyday work practices.
For candidates based in the United States, the salary range for this position is $193,280 to $289,920, with additional compensation possibilities such as bonuses and long-term incentives. Genmab supports the overall well-being of its employees by offering competitive benefits, including a 401(k) plan with 100% match on the first 6% of contributions, multiple health insurance options, voluntary plans for critical illness and accident protection, paid time off including parental leave, and access to support resources and wellness programs. Genmab is committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace that supports physical, financial, social, and emotional wellness, welcoming applicants who are innovative, collaborative, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients globally.
