Big Bend Hospice Foundation is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to supporting underfunded hospice services that deeply impact families and patients in the Big Bend region. They will provide leadership and coaching to event operations staff while actively increasing the Foundation’s visibility and financial support through high-impact events. The Director of Special Events & Communications will be instrumental in spearheading initiatives that support vital hospice programs such as Charity Care, the Valor Program, Margaret C. Dozier House, and more. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, event planning, communications or related field preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in events, fundraising, communications or nonprofit operations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing complex event logistics and vendor relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Passionate about mission-driven work and community impact

Job Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing, Event Planning, Communications, or related field preferred)
  • 4+ years of experience in events, fundraising, communications, or nonprofit operations

Job Duties

  • Lead and grow signature fundraising events that directly impact families and patients receiving underfunded hospice services such as Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Bereavement, The First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care, Charity Care, Valor Program, Margaret C. Dozier House and more
  • Oversee event logistics, vendor partnerships, and onsite execution
  • Shape communication strategies that elevate donor engagement and brand consistency
  • Support sponsorship development and stewardship activities
  • Build strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners
