The role of Director of Security at Hilton is pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and property assets. This position involves overseeing comprehensive safety and security operations aligned with OSHA compliance and best industry practices. The Director of Security is responsible for managing departmental systems, budgets, and policies, leading coordinated safety training programs, and ensuring the hotel premises are protected through active security patrols and risk assessments.
Key responsibilities include directing investigations into incidents such as accidents, thefts, and unauthorized activities, as well as leading emergency response efforts for situations including fires, medical emergencies, and security threats. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 7 years in security management or related roles
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA standards and safety protocols
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to interact professionally with law enforcement and emergency services
- Flexible availability to respond to emergencies and operational needs
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, or related field preferred
- Extensive experience in security management within hospitality or related industries
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and motivate teams
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience coordinating emergency response and investigations
- Ability to develop and implement effective safety training programs
Job Duties
- Lead safety and security operations including ensuring OSHA compliance, promoting safe work practices, and managing department systems, budgets, and policies
- Oversee safety training programs including CPR, fire and life safety, workplace violence prevention, and driver training
- Ensure property safety by directing security patrols to identify and address safety risks, security threats, and undesirable conditions
- Lead investigations into accidents, thefts, property loss, and unlawful activities
- Direct emergency responses including fires, medical incidents, and security threats
- Liaise with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies on security-related matters
- Cultivate a high-performing security team through engagement, performance management, professional development, and recognition programs
