The company employs more than 18,000 associates who share a commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences. Pyramid's diverse platform includes several distinct entities such as Benchmark Resorts & Hotels, known for its collection of unique independent properties; Axiom Hospitality, which focuses on European hotel management; and PYRAMIDWORKS, a division specializing in integrated workplace and facilities services. Headquartered with corporate offices in Boston, The Woodlands, Texas, and London, Pyramid Global Hospitality blends the advantages of global scale with a personalized, hands-on approach that prioritizes operational excellence, exceptional service, and enduring partnerships.
At Pyramid, the workforce is the driving force behind the company's success. The organization fosters a supportive environment where employees feel respected, valued, and encouraged to develop their careers. This culture of growth is underscored by opportunities for team members to collaborate with experienced leadership, engage in meaningful and challenging assignments, and gain exposure to a wide-reaching portfolio of brands and markets. Whether newcomers to the hospitality industry or seasoned professionals, associates at Pyramid find ample opportunities to expand their skill sets, advance professionally, and make meaningful contributions.
One distinguished property within the Pyramid portfolio is the Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley, a dynamic and modern hotel situated in the heart of Downtown Berkeley, California. This 17-story hotel features 331 thoughtfully designed suites equipped with fully functional kitchens and separate living areas, catering to the extended stay guest market. The property boasts over 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event spaces, complemented by a rooftop restaurant and bar offering spectacular panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay Area. Its prime location, just half a block from the Downtown Berkeley BART station and accessible to multiple bus routes, makes commuting straightforward and convenient.
Pyramid Global Hospitality is deeply committed to fostering diversity and inclusion. At Residence Inn Berkeley, diversity is not only welcomed but actively embraced and celebrated, reflecting the company’s core values of care, respect, and reward. The company supports equal employment opportunities across various dimensions including EEOC, ADA, veterans, and LGBTQ+ communities.
The role of Director of Sales & Marketing at Residence Inn Berkeley is an executive leadership position integral to the hotel’s commercial success. This role entails designing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenues across diverse market segments. The director will play a critical role in enhancing the hotel’s brand presence within Berkeley, the East Bay, and the larger San Francisco market. Responsibilities include oversight of sales efforts across corporate accounts, extended stay, university relations, government, healthcare, group sales, and local partnerships, working in close alignment with Revenue Management and Operations teams. This collaborative role demands strong Marriott system proficiency, business development prowess, and a proven track record in surpassing revenue targets.
Major facets of this position include leading strategic commercial planning to drive key performance metrics such as RevPAR, average daily rate, occupancy, and market share growth. The Director of Sales & Marketing will also serve as a frontline leader in maintaining vital relationships with key accounts and community organizations, cultivating new business opportunities through proactive networking and market intelligence. Additionally, marketing responsibilities include managing promotional campaigns, public relations activities, and partnerships that elevate the hotel’s visibility and bookings.
Leadership within the sales team is a vital component, including recruitment, coaching, performance management, and fostering a culture anchored in accountability and collaboration. The director is charged with preparing sales budgets, monitoring financial performance, and delivering insightful updates to hotel leadership. Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across functional teams to ensure seamless operational and commercial alignment.
Compensation for the Director of Sales & Marketing position ranges from $185,000 to $200,000, reflecting the seniority and critical impact of this role. Pyramid Global Hospitality emphasizes equal opportunity, celebrates diversity, and is committed to cultivating an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive.
