Job Description

Hotel Indigo Williamsburg is a premier lifestyle boutique hotel located in the vibrant heart of Brooklyn, New York City. Part of the globally recognized InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Hotel Indigo Williamsburg offers guests a unique blend of modern comfort, local culture, and personalized service. The hotel reflects the creative and eclectic spirit of Williamsburg through its distinctive design, thoughtfully curated local experiences, and commitment to community engagement. Guests enjoy an immersive stay with access to Brooklyn’s dynamic arts scene, culinary excellence, and historic neighborhoods, making Hotel Indigo Williamsburg a sought-after destination for leisure, corporate, and social travelers alike. The hotel prides itself on delivering an exceptional hospitality experience that combines global standards with a strong local identity, fostering a sense of belonging for every visitor.

The role of Director of Sales & Marketing at Hotel Indigo Williamsburg is a critical leadership position responsible for driving all sales, marketing, and revenue-generating initiatives within this lifestyle boutique hotel. The Director spearheads strategic planning and execution to maximize the hotel's top-line financial performance, focusing on increasing occupancy rates, average daily rates (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR). This dynamic role requires a hands-on leader who is deeply knowledgeable about the New York City and Brooklyn hospitality markets and who possesses a passion for lifestyle hospitality. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and cultivating key client relationships while driving demand across group, corporate, leisure, and transient business segments.

Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive sales and marketing strategies, leading targeted sales efforts, identifying new market opportunities, and collaborating closely with Revenue Management to align pricing and distribution strategies. The Director also oversees marketing initiatives that maintain brand consistency across all channels, partners with corporate marketing, digital agencies, and public relations teams, and supports promotional campaigns for rooms and food and beverage outlets. Leadership is a core component, as this position involves coaching and developing a motivated sales team within a collaborative culture, setting clear goals, and actively participating as a member of the hotel's executive leadership team.

The Director also plays a vital role in client and community engagement, enhancing the hotel's profile by building and maintaining relationships with key clients, local businesses, community organizations, and industry partners. Representation of the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and community functions is essential to position Hotel Indigo as the premier choice for groups, events, and social functions in Brooklyn. Additionally, the role entails managing sales and marketing budgets, preparing and analyzing detailed reports and forecasts, and ensuring compliance with IHG systems and brand standards.

Candidates for this role should bring 5-7 years of proven hotel sales leadership experience, particularly within lifestyle or boutique hotel environments. Experience within the New York City and Brooklyn hospitality markets is strongly desired, as is familiarity with IHG brand standards and systems. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are required, alongside a strategic mindset balanced with entrepreneurial execution capabilities. The position demands flexibility in working hours, including willingness to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

Hotel Indigo Williamsburg offers a competitive salary range of $115,000 to $140,000 annually, along with a bonus structure and a comprehensive benefits package. Joining this hotel means becoming part of a globally recognized lifestyle brand, with the opportunity to influence the success of a high-profile, locally rooted boutique hotel in one of Brooklyn's most creative neighborhoods. The hotel is committed to diversity and equal employment opportunities, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a passionate, results-driven sales and marketing leader looking to make a significant impact in the boutique hospitality industry in New York City.
