Job Description
EDITION Hotels merge the innovative vision of renowned boutique hotelier Ian Schrager with the exceptional service standards of a world-class luxury hotel and the expansive reach of Marriott International, delivering a unique and elevated hospitality experience. As a flagship brand, EDITION embodies a delicate balance of sophistication and individuality, combining polish with personality, and perfectionism with a distinctive charm and charisma. This brand is aimed at sophisticated, informed consumers who appreciate quality, originality, design, and service excellence, and who desire an experience that breaks conventional boundaries and exceeds expectations.
Located at 9040 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, California, this Marriott International property offers a dynamic work environment where creativity and authenticity are highly valued. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities, celebrating the diverse backgrounds of its associates, and fostering an inclusive culture that respects and supports its workforce, including adherence to non-discrimination policies and fair practices concerning applicants with criminal histories. With a competitive full-time Management position, offering an annual salary range of $163,000 to $198,900 plus bonus eligibility, this role represents an excellent opportunity to advance a career within a luxury hospitality setting.
The Sales Department Leader will function as the head of sales for this prestigious property, which manages over 300 peak room bookings alongside significant local catering revenue. This leadership role oversees both reactive and proactive sales strategies aimed at achieving and surpassing booking goals and revenue targets. The incumbent will provide day-to-day leadership to the sales team, guiding them toward meeting property sales objectives through strategic planning and execution. The successful candidate will implement the brand’s service strategy and applicable initiatives across all sales processes, building long-term, value-driven relationships with customers to ensure ongoing success.
A critical aspect of this role includes evaluating and optimizing the property’s presence in various sales channels such as Area Sales, Group Sales within the Sales Office, and electronic lead platforms. The leader will foster strong collaborative relationships with these channels to proactively position and market the property effectively. Additionally, this position carries responsibility for managing the marketing budget, enabling the creation and deployment of property-specific campaigns, promotions, and collateral that drive revenue and align with property goals. Coordination with regional marketing communications teams is integral to executing regional and national promotional strategies.
The role demands a strategic leader who can develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that meet or exceed the needs of the brand’s target customers and associates, ensuring a return on investment to the property owner and Marriott International. Working within a supportive and highly recognized hospitality group, the Sales Department Leader will have opportunities to lead a team, innovate marketing tactics, and continually push the boundaries of excellence in luxury hotel sales and marketing. This is a position for an ambitious and experienced professional passionate about hospitality, leadership, and customer engagement in an environment that inspires, challenges, and rewards dedication and service excellence.
