Job Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous sales experience in a luxury or lifestyle hotel preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Delphi, and Access database tools
  • Knowledge of food and wine preferred
  • Willingness to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, push, lift up to 25 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Ability to travel locally for client meetings

Job Duties

  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates ensuring they perform according to brand standards and core values
  • Use internal and external resources and data to develop strategic plans incorporating all business segments
  • Understand sales and business processes to support corporate and hotel goals and enhance customer value
  • Identify customer business requirements and craft offers resulting in increased revenue share for the hotel
  • Achieve annual hotel revenue goals as agreed and established in the budget
  • Analyze banquet event orders to ensure all room setups, equipment, supplies, staffing, and menus meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Monitor achievement of sales team objectives and take action to correct shortfalls
  • Maintain hotel relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and revenue
  • Use professional sales techniques to negotiate best possible terms satisfying customer requirements
  • Articulate and leverage hotel benefits to close sales opportunities
  • Prepare and maintain a current annual marketing plan with measurable initiatives for each business segment
  • Model proper selling techniques, develop others effectively, and commit to personal and industry development
  • Develop effective oral and written presentations to clearly communicate ideas and recommendations
  • Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition
  • Recommend, implement, monitor, and control banquet and event budgets to maximize revenue and minimize expenses
  • Develop and implement, with sales and convention services, special packages and new menus within corporate guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling policies
  • Monitor and control maintenance of meeting spaces and equipment to protect assets and ensure safety
  • Follow sustainability guidelines related to the EarthView program
  • Practice safe work habits and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
