The Director of Sales position at Riley Hotel Group is a key leadership role pivotal to driving the sales strategy and revenue goals of their hotel properties in Northeast Ohio. As a full-time director, you will be entrusted with developing and executing comprehensive sales and marketing plans that align with market trends to increase group business and average daily rates (ADR). In this role, you will analyze market data, oversee competitor activities, and continuously refine sales tactics to ensure properties meet or exceed budgetary and revenue objectives. Your leadership and communication skills will be instrumental in articulating sales performance metrics to the corporate office and general manager while motivating the sales team and coordinating effectively with property staff.

Your responsibilities will include conducting in-person sales visits to clients, managing relationships with key accounts, and spearheading initiatives to attract new clients and grow existing business. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of sales experience in a hotel setting
  • experience using hotel reservation and revenue management systems
  • strong communication and negotiation skills
  • ability to work full-time and complete in-person client visits
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • understanding of hotel operations
  • proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years of past sales experience in a hotel setting
  • previous Hilton and/or Marriott experience is a plus
  • previous experience with multiple property sales
  • knowledge of hotel operations
  • knowledge of Microsoft Word

Job Duties

  • Analyze market and accordingly create marketing plan to drive group business and ADR
  • work to ensure property reaches budget/revenue goals
  • articulate sales performance to corporate office and general manager
  • communicate effectively to staff on sales clients, groups, VIP guests, etc
  • call new prospects drive business new and repeat business
  • solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts
  • develop and continually enhance relationships with key accounts to maintain and increase our market share
  • maintain consistent and timely verbal and written communication with clients
  • assist in developing an annual sales and marketing plan
  • identify marketing strategy for each market segment
  • analyze historical, current and future hotel trends, and market trends
  • create selling strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue to meet/exceed sales goals
