The role of Director of Sales at Sheraton Augusta Hotel is critical in driving the hotel's revenue growth and market presence. This full-time position requires a seasoned sales professional who is not only adept at securing new business but also skilled at nurturing and expanding existing client relationships. The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy aimed at maximizing occupancy rates, enhancing utilization of meeting and event spaces, and ultimately increasing overall profitability. This position demands a focus on corporate, group, and event sales, requiring the candidate to be results-oriented and possess strong strategic sales abilities. The role involves close collaboration with various departments including revenue management, marketing, operations, and events teams to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and guest satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years hotel sales experience
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Knowledge of group sales and corporate account management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with hotel sales and PMS software
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, marketing, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a full-service or branded hotel environment
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong knowledge of group sales, corporate accounts, and event planning processes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with hotel sales systems such as Delphi, Lightspeed, or similar Ci-Ty/PMS tools
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue goals for rooms, meetings, and events
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities including corporate accounts, group bookings, and social events
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, local businesses, and key accounts
  • Conduct site tours, client presentations, and sales calls both in-person and virtual
  • Manage RFPs, proposals, contract negotiations, and closing of group and event business
  • Collaborate with revenue management to optimize pricing, inventory, and forecasting strategies
  • Partner with marketing to promote hotel offerings, packages, and special promotions
  • Work closely with operations and events teams to ensure seamless execution and high guest satisfaction
  • Attend industry events, networking functions, and local business meetings to generate leads
  • Maintain accurate records in STR systems and provide regular sales reports and forecasts
