The Four Seasons Yacht I represents the newest pinnacle of luxury maritime hospitality, extending the brand's exceptional standards onto the world’s oceans for the first time. Spanning 679 feet in length and 34,000 gross tonnage, this spectacular yacht offers 95 expansive suites and guest rooms, each designed with panoramic views through floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive private terraces. The Shipboard Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Yacht carries a critical leadership role, overseeing all Guest Services and Rooms Departments, including Spa, KFAS, Housekeeping, Front Office, and Retail operations. This position plays a decisive role in maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality by directing department heads, fostering effective communication, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout the yacht. The Director collaborates closely with the Yacht General Manager and the shoreside Sales & Marketing teams to make strategic decisions that influence occupancy levels, operational budgets, and overall guest experience.
This role is ideally suited for candidates with extensive experience in luxury hotel or cruise ship operations, especially those who have held senior management positions such as Chief Purser or Director of Operations. A deep understanding of rooms management, guest experience, and hospitality service standards is essential. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required to navigate the complexities of a mobile luxury resort environment.
The position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. The schedule involves a four-month on, two-month off contract, providing a balanced approach to work and personal life. Job Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of related experience in luxury hotel or cruise ship operations
- Strong knowledge of Rooms and guest experience procedures
- Proficient in English and additional languages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of hospitality management principles
- Ability to manage budgets and forecasts
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs
- Proficient in MS Office and hotel management software
- Ability to work scheduled hours with some flexibility
- Professional interaction within an international team
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Previous luxury cruise ship experience preferred
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years in operation management positions in luxury hotels or onboard cruise lines such as Chief Purser or Director of Operations
- Great knowledge of Rooms and Guest Experience procedures and service standards
- Familiarity with principles of hospitality management and department specifics
- Fluent in written and spoken English and additional languages

- Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and financial reporting

- Exceptional guest experience and complaint handling abilities

Job Duties
- Direct and oversee the activities of Guest Services and Rooms Departments including Spa, KFAS, Housekeeping, Front Office, Retail
- Make strategic and operational decisions in collaboration with the hotel leadership team and Yacht General Manager
- Supervise Heads of Departments ensuring thorough communication and resolution of guest or crew requests
- Assure standards are met and problems promptly resolved
- Work closely with shoreside Sales & Marketing teams to enhance occupancy and prepare business forecasts
- Routinely inspect housekeeping areas
- Resolve customer complaints in person, by phone, or written communication
- Develop personalized relationships with return guests and group contacts
- Monitor and control labor and divisional expenses
- Maintain the annual budget in collaboration with the Yacht GM
- Maintain close relationships with retail vendors and concessions
- Ensure Four Seasons Yacht service and culture standards are consistently met
- Support employee development, training, and career growth programs within the Rooms division
