Job Description

Mainsail Lodging is an independent franchisee operating a hotel under the prestigious Autograph Collection brand by Marriott International. Although the franchisee operates separately from Marriott International, it upholds the high standards of quality, originality, and guest experience that are synonymous with the Autograph Collection. This collection features a growing portfolio of four and five-star independent hotels, each uniquely curated to provide distinctive and memorable experiences to guests who value originality and bold character. Mainsail Lodging’s hotel in Fort Myers, FL, embodies these ideals, targeting the discerning traveler known as 'The Individualist,' who seeks not just a place to stay but a narrative-enhancing travel experience.

The Director of Rooms Operations plays a critical leadership role within this high-end environment. This exempt, full-time position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the rooms division, ensuring compliance with Marriott brand standards, operational policies, and service culture. Experience within a Marriott branded hotel or an equivalent luxury lifestyle brand is strongly preferred, as the role demands knowledge of the brand's operational expectations, guest satisfaction metrics, and audit compliance.

This role demands not only operational expertise but also a passion for exceptional guest service and team leadership. The Director of Rooms Operations is tasked with maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest privacy while driving operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. A key responsibility includes championing guest satisfaction efforts by ensuring all teams consistently monitor feedback and adjust strategies to address any deficiencies. The role also encompasses overseeing procurement, managing staffing and scheduling in alignment with budgets and forecasts, and maintaining thorough inspection protocols for guest rooms and public spaces.

As part of the leadership team, this Director must also participate as Manager on Duty as scheduled, provide coaching and discipline to staff members, and serve as a senior point of contact for highly escalated guest issues. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and under pressure, and a commitment to uphold the company’s core values and safety policies.

For professionals passionate about hospitality and leadership in a luxury hotel environment, this position offers an opportunity to thrive at a unique property that values individuality and boldness. Alongside competitive compensation aligned with experience, the role includes a comprehensive benefits package that supports health, wellness, career development, and work-life balance. This is an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant team dedicated to delivering one-of-a-kind guest experiences while advancing your career within a respected franchisee under the Marriott International umbrella.
