The role being offered is for the Director of Rooms, an executive-level position that is crucial to maintaining the operational excellence and high standards synonymous with the Omni brand. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, the Director of Rooms oversees all areas within the Rooms Division including Front Desk, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, Spa, and Loss Prevention. Additionally, this role includes management of valet parking operations and maintaining the overall cleanliness and graceful appearance of all guest areas throughout the hotel.

The Director of Rooms is responsible for driving key performance metrics such as guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and financial outcomes. This position demands a balanced approach to people management, operational oversight, and financial stewardship. Key responsibilities include ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness, continuously improving guest satisfaction metrics, fostering a positive work environment to maintain low turnover while encouraging internal promotions, and managing departmental payroll and expenses within budgetary guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or equivalency
  • minimum five years' experience in rooms division management in a similar hotel
  • proven leadership and team management skills
  • strong communication skills
  • proficiency with budgeting and forecasting tools
  • ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest service
  • willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • ability to manage multiple departments effectively
  • strong organizational skills
  • knowledge of luxury hospitality service standards

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree or equivalency required
  • previous experience in all aspects of the rooms division in a property of similar size and quality for five or more years
  • experience in forecasting and scheduling, daily reviews and analysis of operating results preferred
  • union experience preferred
  • creative, collaborative and strategic thinker
  • excellent verbal and written professional communication skills
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to nurture managers-in-training
  • exceptional sense of detail and organization
  • ability to work closely and communicate professionally with all associates, departments, guests, and clients
  • understanding of elevated and luxury full-service hospitality concepts
  • proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office Suite

Job Duties

  • oversee all front office operations including valet parking operations
  • ensure the quality and productivity of operational functions maintaining cleanliness and high levels of personal service by housekeeping associates
  • maintain excellence in appearance of all areas throughout the hotel
  • produce constant improvement in guest experience satisfaction metrics
  • show year-over-year improvement in associate satisfaction scores with low turnover and high promotion-from-within ratings
  • control payroll and direct expenses in line with budget using corporate-wide technology and systems
  • participate in weekly forecasting and scheduling activities
  • assist in developing the annual hotel budget
  • prepare action plans as directed by management
  • review daily operating outcomes including taking corrective action if required
  • maintain high visibility with associates and guests
